All of the cubalaya coloring (from what I've read) comes from a wheaten base. I have blue wheaten (blue-red) cubalaya, but I may have a splash cockeral and a splash pullet. I'm trying to figure out what the splash pattern looks like when it comes from wheaten base. I was told to look for a splash dutch that appears from the blue brown color matings. I'm not able to find any, I'm guessing because Splash isn't an approved color for dutch bantams.

So, do any of you members of BYC have pictures of a splash that came from a wheaten base color? This splash patterns differently than what occurs in Blue Orps, Blue cochin, or other solid blue x blue pairings.

Well here are a couple splash blue wheaten rooster shots, sorry we don't have any hens. The Ameraucana breeders forum has pullet photos some where but I couldn't find them and I think you have to join to see the photos..............I found one pullet at

These are all Ameraucana photos, I'd imagine the color placement would be all the same. The Ameraucana forum has lots of info about splashs and breeding them, if you're interested. http://www.ameraucana.org/abcforum/index.php?a=search

Very cool! Thank you! My rooster doesn't have that much white on him - yet. He may feather out more white as he molts and gets older. Right now he just has a few hidden feathers that are showing white in his tail and wings.
