We had an old wheelbarrow that had the handle break and we couldn't repair it. The wood handle didn't match the pre cut ones at Home depot and the bolts were so rusted we would have had to repair that. also, I think the tire was bad! So, I decided to take the parts that I could scavenge from it and make something nice for the chicken coop! I used the scoop part for a dirt bath area and the metal frame to make a short roost. I had an old spray can of rustoleum paint that was gathering dust, so it got a pretty coat of paint too. I have no idea if the chickens will use any of it but I thought I would give it a chance for a new purpose before going to the dump. It is the wheelbarrow my dad gave me rides in when I was a kid, so I wanted it to have a second life.
