wheep wheep wheep said the lonely quail

Sigh so far only one of my button quail has hatched and I may be lucky to get the one but she is so lonely. She keeps saying wheep wheep wheep, then gets quiet for a bit and it all starts over again.

I had some temp drops the last two days before they were due to hatch so the one that did hatch today is two days (I think) overdue. This is what I get for ordering eggs right before Thanksgiving. I forgot which day I put them in, but I'm pretty sure they are overdue by at least one day

Everyone pray/cross fingers or do whatever it is you want to do that at least one more hatches.

Put a small stuffed toy in to keep it company. That helps. Good luck.

If you don't have a small stuffed animal, a sock will work too.

I've taken a sock, and laid it in the brooder in a "U" shape and the babies snuggled in.

You can take a feather duster and turn it feathers down and put it in the corner so the baby can snuggle inside. Try to give it extra attention. They can bond with you pretty quick being all alone. Good luck with your lonely baby.

It is still in the incubator - I will pick one up tomorrow. The poor thing is sooo sad. She was quiet for awhile though - just restarted in the last few minutes.
