Last week we had a wheezing chicken and went and bought antibiotic (tatracyclin powder) and have been administering to her for 5 days. She appears slightly better but is still wheezing. We have her isolated in a tub in a spare shower downstairs. She is eating, drinking and laying. I am wondering if she will get better or if we should just put her out of her misery? We have been putting the medicine in her water and giving her dropperfuls throughout the day. Has anyone else experienced this? Has your chicken lived or just died in a couple of days? Hoping for some input. Thanks everyone.

I think as long as the chicken can breathe, eat, drink and go to the bathroom, you should allow her some more time to recover. Birds have very delicate respiratory systems, and a respiratory infection can take a while to recover from. If she is improving, and is not in major discomfort you should probably just give her some time.

I would def say give her time!!! we have a few cornishx ladies we just couldnt get bring ourselves to kill, and although this is bc of their weight, they weeze but seem to live day by day just fine.
