We started off with 21 chickens until we went into the store one day and saw the cutest ducks... and brought 2 home. The chickens are now almost 5 weeks old and the ducks we think are about 2-3 weeks old. We were hoping to be able to introduce our ducks to our chickens and have them live in the same coop (they will free-range during the day).

But being new to this I was wondering at what age they should be introduced and how I should do it? Is there anything special I should do or do I just put them in and watch?

Since ducks grow faster the size difference shouldn't be much in a few weeks. As for introducing I'd suggest free ranging them all together so they have some space to run in case of fighting. For watching make sure the chicks don't peck the ducks to hard and Make sure the ducks don't try to tear feathers off or get the chicks to swim

While I believe your ducks and chickens can get along, I would not put them in the same coop!
They need their own space!
You can start slowly introducing them about now actually!
Watch and observe them very carefully! Watch that the chickens don't pick on them and vice versa!
They can free-range together if they get along.
Wishing you the best!!!!

Thank you, this really helps me
