I walked out this morning and saw a big 13+ lb Orpington acting like he was mating a hen, but I didn't see a hen anywhere. Suddenly my little 2 lb Egyptian Fayoumi shot out from under him, jumped on his back, pecked him in the head before launching off and then calmly started foraging as though nothing had happened. The roo ran into the coop through one door and shot out the other side before rejoining the flock. He's a beta roo and is kind of goofy. Those birds can sure be amusing sometimes!
On a serious note, she didn't seem injured at all and I don't think he was forcing her - these roos don't do the chicken rape thing that I've seen. She squats around them a lot when they tap dance for her but this is the first time I've seen them do the deed. I guess I never thought it would work. I wonder what hilarious birds I'd get out of that match? Her eggs are about the size of jumbo quail eggs.
