Hey everyone I would love to get a guinea and attempt to breed it to one of my chickens but i have a question. Is it better to breed a guinea cock to a chicken hen or a rooster cock to a guinea hen? Like what gives you higher fertility rates?

Thanks.

As far as I know, the only way it goes is chicken over guinea. I'm pretty sure that it has to be a chicken rooster mating a guinea hen. (Unless maybe, you use artificial insemination.) At least I've never seen my guinea cocks try to mate a chicken hen.

Good luck! And if you succeed and hatch some chicks, please post pics!!

Not sure but they rarely mate with each other anyways. Most crosses are artificially inseminated or very rarely seen. Even then it's uncommon to get viable eggs even after mating. Odds are it won't happen by just putting a guinea and chicken together. Many have several guineas and chickens together for years and never see it.
