I hatched 5 ducklings last week and they have been living in a large bin for the past week. I already want to move them outside. We have a barn that is not insulated but well sealed. We live in Canada (mid Ontario) ... I have a couple heat lamps but wondering if they’ll freeze to death out there or what my options are. Thanks.

If you hang heat lamps and they can get to them and they are not hit by the wind, I think it's okay.

Even if it’s below freezing?
you have to stray your heat lamps early and allow them to heat the pen, they will need that is always above 94 degrees, I think it was, so that they can be warm enough. I have raised baby chicks in an uninsulated barn with heat lamps in winter before. They've survived snow storms below freezing, so I thinks it's okay.

Keep them out of any drafts and make darn sure your heat lamps are secure.
Keep a close eye on them at first.
How will you keep their water thawed?

Ok perfect thank you. So it’s been done. I’ve raised chicks and ducklings a few times as well but I’ve always felt too bad and left them in the heated shop. They’re too messy though.
