When can I put my injured duck back outside?

Hi! My duck was badly injured on his neck by dogs 4 days ago. He is slowly starting to eat little bits. I tried to put him outside for a bit and he perked up and started to eat more. Does anyone know when you can put injured ducks outside? His wound is still open but not bleeding. I’m worried the other duck will peck at it, but trying to get a level between putting him outside and allowing him to be happy and eat.. any advise welcome. Thanks.

Can you spray his wound with some blu-kote or something? I’m scared that if he goes outside flies will lay eggs on his wound.

It’s sprayed with silver spray which should hopefully keep them off. I’m just worried about the other duck and if he tries to do too much or swim.. but the alternative is keeping him inside for weeks and he isn’t eating much inside
