when did your rhode island reds start laying

Mine are 2 months now( dont worry im not expecting any eggs soon) but my friend says they always lay at 16 weeks but i dont belive her at all i dont think any chicken can lay that early so i need your help RIR owners when did your rirs start laying eggs
 
No, they do not always lay at 16 weeks. In fact, very few breeds lay that early. Those early layers are often hybrids used by the laying industry.

A hatchery grade production red may lay at 18-20 weeks. A true bred to standard, Heritage Rhode Island Red isn't likely to begin laying until 30 weeks or even later, depending on the strain.
