Hi Molly! Welcome to BYC!

First of all, I wouldn't have my chickens on laying feed until they lay. They should be on starter/grower until the point of lay and then switch.

Chickens are all different and while we like to think there is a standard for laying, that doesn't always work. I would think that your chickens should be laying in the next couple of weeks based on their age, but maybe not. Before they lay you will notice their combs becoming extremely RED. They also start doing what we call the "squat". You will know what this is when you see it.

We have all been where you are waiting, waiting, and waiting for that 1st egg! It is very hard to be patient.

Hope this helps!

It should be any time Molly. You will be very pleased with the Comets. They are friendly and very productive birds once they get going. I fed mine layer feed after 18 weeks and they did fine and started laying at 20 weeks.
