when do chickens start making nests?

I've got 6 BR chicks 5 weeks old, when do they start wallowing nests? They act like they're doing it now.

It sounds like your birds are dusting themselves. They are way way too young to start laying.

Ummmm....when they are old enough, you need to provide nesting boxes with bedding in them.

OK that makes sense they must have been dusting themselves, I knew they were way too young to start laying I just thought mabye they were practicing lol.Thanks everyone!
