All pullets have a different laying age, with egg production birds laying more sooner than normal (which can create problems in the long run). My Easter Eggers have all started laying at about six months, the normal time. Squatting is definitely a sign they are going to be laying soon, as the pullet is submitting to be bred.Funny! She is about 20 weeks too! And today she started squatting whenever I put my hand above her! I am pretty sure that is a sign that she will start laying soon! Right?
Brownred Ameraucana are extremely rare. She's probably mixed with a blue of some kind, given the blue on her wingsI am actually not sure her full breed, but I know that her dad is an EE. I’ll put a picture below. I am guessing EE mixed with brown amaraucana? Anyone think the same?
Like how soon? Like this week, or like in a few weeks?Yep! She should start soonish
Oh wow! I didn’t know that she was extremely rare! Nice to know!Brownred Ameraucana are extremely rare. She's probably mixed with a blue of some kind, given the blue on her wings
Depends, could be either. Some birds are bigger teases than others about when they're about to start layingLike how soon? Like this week, or like in a few weeks?
Just an update, our EEgger started laying tiny pale green eggs yesterday! She’s 21 weeks old. The beautiful green color was such a fun surprise. We scrambled it and shared it five ways since it’s our first homegrown egg ever. DeliciousShe looks almost exactly like our Easter egger. Same warm brown coloring with gray tail. Mine is 20 weeks and no eggs yet. Fingers crossed we get some soon!
