I printed out the intervention thread from 2007.
I do not know how long before I should step in.
It pipped around 10:00 am this morning.
Thanks , Carrie Fletcher

Leave it alone, it cant take sometimes 24 hours from pip to zip. It will be okay

I've only had four chicks hatch successfully, but they went between 9-14 hours from pip to hatch.

I've heard that you should let them go 24 hours before I'd intervene.

I have had some go 24 hrs before hatching. I do check any that go 24 hrs to make sure they are not stuck. If the chick it stuck I break away the shell round the same line the chick would normally zip and moistened the membrane then put it back in the incubator. I have wrapped an egg in a warm moist paper towel and put it back in to the hatcher.
