Hi,

My 3 chickens and duck are laying way way more eggs than the internet says those makes of critters should be....except my RIR...she's a stuborn chicken.
I live in suburbia, 1.5 miles from the city center.
I was thinking about putting a small table at the front of my driveway with a sign saying "Free Free Range Eggs"...and then a bowl of the eggs for passers by to help themselves too.

Where do I stand if someone comes back and says "You gave my kid salmonella!!!"
Could I be potentially be in a legal quagmire here?

I worry about this, too. I give eggs away to our family and friends (I've never sold any), but you never know when someone is going to have a brain fart and accuse you of giving them bad eggs

It's probably best to do some research on this question. But I have seen numerous web cam images of small stands (usually a chair or table) with jams and preserves or extra fruit and a little sign with the prices to tempt passersby - and these pics were from web cams in the UK. You might have to offer small bags for taking the eggs away. Couldn't you just canvas your close neighbors and give them some eggs from time to time?
