When do I start feeding chicks regular food?

Starter/chick feed...then grower....then layer. That was the order that I was thinking.

I need to get more feed in the morning...

My 6 pullets are 8 weeks and there are two that are looking a bit rooster-ish. I have read that you can't know for sure until they are about 4 or 5mos. old. If they do turn out to be roosters and I have to switch to layer feed (in the future) for the others, how do you keep the could be rooster from eating the oyster shell if they aren't suppose to have it?

The inner craving for the calcium comes from within the bird. Younger pullets won't have that craving, neither will cockerels. Even hens that sometimes should be eating the shells don't seem to do so.

I use Dumor chicken feed. I miss counted and switched them from starter/grower to grower finisher a month early will that hurt my girls?

I introduced my 7 nine weeks old youngsters with 3 adult laying hens, 4 little girls and 3 Roos. What should I be feeding them? I've been mixing starter the the adult feed.

What's the rush? Scratch is just about 1/2 the nutritional value of feed, at just about the same price.
