I have 16 Muscovy ducklings born May 3, 2014, I am curious as to when I can stop feeding them the non medicated game feed which is small granules, to feeding them the food I feed my adult ducks and chickens, (chopped corn and layer pellets). They are soooooo cute, but messey!
I have only raised chickens and do not know much about Muscovy ducks. So far I am very pleased with the breed, I have a female sitting right now on about a dozen or more eggs, so I will be increasing the quantity of Muscovy ducks in my yard. My plan is to sell them, regretfully the hatching couldn't have come at a worse time since I am having shoulder surgery in a few days, so I guess they will stay where they are at for a while.

If someone could help me with the question of the changing of the feed from duckling feed to adult feed, I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks

Well if it's a layer, not for a bit usually layers are not given to birds till at point of lay, the excessive calcium levels can do harm to growing birds. If you want to move off the crumb you could start looking into a grower for the 4wk+ mark but this will vary on the feed, each brand has differing recommendations.

some basic feeding of ducklings here.

I usually run a starter till about 8wks or so... then start mixing a grower pellet in, i don't have a layer here because of my heavy drake population.
