When do Male Mallards drop their feathers?

My cute boy is only 8 months old...
BUT he was cured of angel wing and his feathers are all jacked up from the bandages.


When can I expect him to get his new feathers in?

After the breeding season he will molt into his eclipse plumage (he'll be colored like a hen) which will gradually be replaced by nuptial plumage early autumn.
