When introducing pullets to an old hen crew, at what age do they start fighting back instead of running?

When they mature enough. It's not size, it's maturity. A mature chicken will dominate an immature chicken just based on its force of personality. A mature bantam will totally dominate an immature full sized fowl.

When will they be mature enough? I don't know. I can think of some humans that are not mature after 50 years, men and women. Some of my pullets have been mature enough by 16 weeks. Some seem to take until 30 weeks or more. I've had mature hens that did not bother the immature ones hardly at all. Some hens are just brutes. It just depends on the individual chickens involved, both the mature and the immature.
