when do the chicks start to eat and drink

my peachicks are hatching 1 has so far when will they start eating and drinking ??

immediately if they have it available to them (of course, assuming you've let them dry off and fluff up in the incubator and they can walk

)

They can live for their first 3 days on their yolk sack. I put mine in a brooder box and let them dry out and the next day they go into a brooder cabinet where there is food and water.

make sure you give them chick feed. They can survive on what they got from the shell for a few days but it is far better once they are dry to put them in the brood box and make sure food and water are available. Gently dip their beek into the water so they know what to do! Also make sure your water is not too deep or your chicks will drown!

if the water is deep, put some marbles in it so they cannot fall in

thank you all for your input there were only two eggs in the incubator so i think ill leave him in there tonight to dry off im so excited
