When do they "grow up"?

I have read in a few threads about duck and geese behaviors and "when they grow up" this changes or that changes...ducks and geese possibly get into everything, go wandering, no longer listen ect...I feel like I am talking about my children to be honest. They are 19 and 18 and I am STILL waiting for them to "grow up".

When does this "grow up" change happen with ducks and geese?

In their second year if you are lucky. Children? Not certain that happens anymore.

Mine haven't grown up. They just went from little kids to teenagers.

That explains the raging hormones people talk about with the ducks/geese...teenage behavior.

My gander reminds me of one of those miscreants who leads his gang around and taunts people. Then after he pretends to put you in your place he turns around and starts honking for glory in front of his girls who are all cackling up a storm.
