When do they start laying eggs ???

I have 4 birds. 2 easter eggers and a RIR, and a Big Black one ?? They are about 11 weeks old give or take. do i need to do anything. I have 4 nest inside with wood shavings. When do they start laying?

It really depends on the breed. Some lay as early as 16 weeks. There are a lot that lay between 18-24 weeks. Some much later. I would reseach your breeds and find out the average time they lay. My RIR started laying around 24 weeks, but she was also born August 1st last year so she started laying during the winter. Ususally they start laying later (or not at all til spring) in the colder months.
