When do you cut nails?

I have 25-26 wk old pullets and one has very long nails. Curious how long you let your flocks' get before trimming?

Never. The act of scratching should keep them trimmed down. I trim my rooster's spurs with hoof nippers. Cuts like butter.
Grab her by the legs and hang her upside down. She won't fight or freak out. She will just hang there and make the job fast and easy. A pair of dog nail trimmers are powerful enough.

Could you post pictures of the nails that you feel are too long? If they have started twisting they are way too long.

I recently cut my two 3 month old BR's nails. They are very tame but ooh those talons! I used a Dremel meant for my dog, who is terrified of it. Worked just fine
