When do you introduce chicks to outdoors with 7 hens

I have 3, 5 week old chicks. I also have 7 laying hens. When can I put the 3 chicks out in the coop with the 7 hens?

If they have a broody hen, I introduce them immediately. Without a broody hen, you need to wait until they are near the same size as the hens.

Ditto on that. My first time I made the mistake op putting 7 week old chicks with laying hens and the end result was a few bald butts before I realized what was happening. Laying hens can be vicious towards other birds. My Australorp hen hates my meaties and tries to kick at them through their pens at times. Put em in a nearby run or tractor so they can see each other until they reach size.
