I hatched pure Ameraucana chicks and I'm starting out showing with 4-H. The kids really want to show chickens and I think it's a great start before we show through the APA/ABA.
I don't have my chicks picked out yet, they are only a few days old. I have more in the incubator as well from a separate breeder to see which are best for showing. I'm not expecting perfect birds, but I'm hoping for nice ones.
How old are the chicks when you prepare them to show? I've been handling them several times a day. I'm wondering if I should be setting them in a cage a few minutes a day to get use to it? I have no experience with this.
