I'm a new owner of 7 beautiful chickens and have no clue when I have to start giving them Wazine 17 and how often I should be giving it to them?? I was told to put it in their water, but do I have to add it in there at all times after I put fresh water? I have a big 3 gallon jug for their water. How will I know how much to put in it and do I dump it after the one day I give it to them?
Do I check their poo to tell if they have roundworm? Now after I give them do I have to wait for a few days before we can keep the eggs to eat? They came from a very nice home and he took extra good care of them. And how will I know if my chickens have lice? The man that I bought them from said that I would know when they start picking at each other. He said if they get lice that I have to get some powdery stuff and place it in a big plastic bag with one chicken at one time and shake them in it quickly. What do you think? Is that normal and ok for my chickens?

You have to visually inspect each chicken for lice/mites. Check around their vent area, you can see them crawling or eggs stuck to the base of feathers. You would treat them with sevin dust. You must also use sevin dust in their house, roosts and nests. Repeat application in 10 days to kill any eggs that have hatched since the first dusting. If you dont see lice/mites...no need to dust them. Worming- If your chickens have slowed laying eggs, hardly eating, lethargic and not acting like a chicken should....scratching around, pecking etc...they might have worms. If they dont act like that, dont worm them. You will only see worms in their poop if they have an infestation. Wazine17- you have a 3 gallon jug for their water; you put 3 ounces of wazine in with the 3 gallons of water (one oz per gallon.) Put it out for your chickens first thing in the morning and it must be their sole source of water for 24 hours. After 24 hours discard the water and give them regular fresh water. You must throw any eggs that they lay in the garbage for 2 weeks. Back to dusting...I've put sevin dust in a small garbage bag and put the chicken in it with its head sticking out the top and gently 'shake and bake,' so to speak. I then put a liitle dust on it's head, careful not to get any in its eyes, then release them. I repeat in 10 days as stated earlier.

For 7 chickens you can just mix 1 ounce of Wazine per 1 Gallon of water..They only need to drink about three ounces each of this mixture to be affective.
