I've been reading posts which talk about moulting which interrupts egg laying. My 2 yr old hen moulted last DECEMBER!!!! Should I expect her to moult next December? comments

I thought that way too. I thought if they molted at a certain time they would molt every year at the same time. Didn't happen. Some molts were heavier than others, and when I thought one should molt she didn't. I was wondering if climate might have something to do with it as I live in Florida. I had several birds that didn't go through their first molt until after they were 1½ yrs old and some you could barely tell they molted except for seeing the feathers around the coop, run and yard. I did have a reduction of eggs.

Well, that's good to know! I felt sorry for Fanny, since she was in full moult the weekend in December that it dropped to -5 F!!
(Good thing I had straw.)
