when does the coloring start to show?

at what age does the color start to come in on glw. i have 2 glw and 1 slw and they all look the same except for their heads which still have fluff. the feathers are black with a tiny white line down the center.

they will have chick feathers and then molt again at 4-6 months and get proper laced feathers.

Kind of depends on where you got them. Ones from the hatchery often don't have good lacing and won't change much over time. My SLW parent stock came from breeders and their lacing is apparent from their first feathers. How old are your chicks?

These chicks are about 6 weeks on the pictures and you can see the lacing on them already.
