When hens decide to lay eggs do you have to show them

where their nesting boxes are or will they just find them on their own?


I'm learning that as they get older I'm getting more and more stupid on the subject. LOL.
 
Golf balls will become your best friend. Just stick one in each nest and they'll eventually figure it out.
 
hokankai, I didn't have any golfballs so I took a couple of eggs and poked holes in them blew out the inside rinsed them out real good refilled with sand taped the ends back up. Worked out great and they lasted for a very long time. My hens lay brown eggs and I used white for the decoy.
 
That works too, as does those wooden eggs you can get. But we golf here so that's what we used
 
Lol, guess I will have to ask my neighbor for some golf balls, hehe........Great idea and I was wondering the same thing.
