When is a silkie crest fully grown?

I just want to know so I can tell what gender my silkie is when its crest is fully grown.

Good luck with that. With mine I didn't know what they were until they crowed.

good luck. one of my hens crowed the other day. pullets have a very narrow comb. almost smooth. roosters look like a walnut hull or thumb print. as thet get older it fills out more thicker and sticks out more. they are very hard to tell at first. it takes practice and raising them to know what took look for has they grow. good luck.............
