Hey y’all!

I have 3 turkeys, about 6 weeks old. They have a heat lamp. When should i remove it?

I also have 11 chicks most of them are about 3 weeks old, and a couple are 4 weeks. They also have a heat lamp, when else should I remove the lamp for chicks? Thank you!

From what I understand with the chicks, the first week they need 95 degrees then you can deduct 5 degrees for each week of life until it gets to room temp. So yours should be between 80 and 85 right now. That what we have done for our 5 week old chicks. We essentially raised the lamp up a bit each week. We are able to keep them outside now since it's really warm weather with no lamp and just using the lamp at night because it gets down into the 60's. Just watch them though, if they start huddling or puffing up their feathers then they are too cold. 🥶Hope that helps!! I don't know about turkeys though.
