We purchased 6 rhode island reds on march 11th unsexed at Tractor Supply. 4 weeks ago after molting we finally figured out 5 of 6 are roosters.
Now this is a joint venture between my neighbor and my self so we both have to agree on decisions.(but also share duties)
I think the roosters are ready to butcher so we can order some hens. But he keeps wanting to wait another month or so fir them to get bigger.
Today I noticed that one of them is really dominating and attacking the other roo's , he is biting on their combs and not letting go.
I say it is time for a BBQ. What do you think? How much longer before he starts drawing blood or killing? the others?
When is a good butchering time for extra roo's?
