I'm currently in day 2 with 9 silkie eggs and 4 showgirl eggs and the Temp is staying 100-101 degrees (still air) when should I be able to candle them to see if any embryos are growig?

Candle after the eggs have been incubating for atleast 7-8 days.

If you candle before then, your likely not to see much. I like to

candle on the 7th and 18th day of incubation, but some people

candle everyday until day 18.

Good luck!

Not really.

I handle my eggs all the time, everytime I hatch eggs.

Not last time, but time before then, I hatched 10 eggs

out of 12 and all were healthy as ever. Always wash

your hands, ofcaorse.

Agreed!! I touched mine about 6 times a week to candle amd show off. Lol. 100% hatch rate!

ETA: if they haven't been washed, then there isn't even a reason to wash your hands, as the bloom is still intact. IMO

Personally, I candle at about 7 days to verify that something is growing, and then I candle on day 18 to verify that is has grown.

I handle my eggs a lot, including turning them by hand 3x daily, I've even dropped and cracked one and it still hatched.
I try to be careful, but I have 150 eggs to turn manually and sometimes things happen. Overall, they are pretty resilient.
