When to change from chick starter to other food?

I'm a new chicken raiser. First time. My chicks are almost 7 weeks old. How long do they stay on chick starter? Months? They seem to be hungry all the time. After chick starter, what do I buy for them at the feed store?

Depending on where you live, you may have seperate grower available to buy. If so, you can switch them to the grower at 6 to 8 weeks. If all that's available is a combination feed - starter/grower - than they can stay on that until you switch them to layer feed at 18 to 20 weeks or when you get your first egg; whichever comes first.
