when to feed laying pellets

was just wondering when i can start feeding the laying pellets. I have 6 black sex links, 5 red sex links, and 5 pearl white leghorns. They wiil be 14 wks old sat sept. 13. thanks for the help

it is recommended that you keep them on starter till you get the first egg, at that point slowly mix in the layer (so its not a completely new food to thier system) till they are on layer only.

This is a judgment call, since you are pretty close to getting eggs. If you run out soon, I'd get the laying pellets. Otherwise feed what you have until it runs out and then start on laying feed. Oh, and I never mixed the two and it was fine. It is probably best to do it that way but I never buy feed until we are completely out!
