when to get a rooster?

My gals are 8 weeks old right now, would it be dangerous to put a rooster 1 yr old with them?

I have no idea, but would think be better to put in a younger roo instead of an older one. He might get a little ruff and want some action before they're old enough and ready for it.

i agree, older roos can be rough. i find that having roos younger than the hens works because he learns to respect the girls before he grows up. if you want the 1 yr old roo, then wait to put him in with the girls until they're a little older.
