When to give them dustbaths

When should you start providing chicks with dustbath material? I keep mine on papertowel for the first couple weeks so they know what is food and what isn't. Then move them on to shavings/chips. Can I give them something to dustbath in once they move on to the chips?

Yup in fact mine have been using the pine chips to "dust bathe" in. I really need to get something in the coop that they can really use but all of our dirt right now is mud.
