when to give up?

alright, its day 21 and nothing, my wife and i thought we saw some of the eggs shaking , but still no pipin. how long to wait before abanding the hatch?

The last set I hatched began pipping on day 22 & the hatch wasn't complete until day 23.
I wait until day 25 before opening the 'bator.

I hatch in cartons in a cabinet incubator, so I really don't see any movement.
When I hatched in an LG, sometimes eggs would rock, sometimes they wouldn't. I usually heard them peeping a couple hours before they'd pip - that mean's they've broken through the air cell.
Just be patient & don't open the incubator.

Yep...wait til day 25 before giving up...and then, I very carefully make a small hole in the air cell end -- once you open up a 1/4 inch hole, you can see if there's a chick in it, and if it's still alive...If you don't break through the lower air cell membrane, unless it's just ready to explode, it still won't smell bad.
