When to go out with Momma Hen?

I have a hen that has 8 chicks which are 1 1/2 weeks old. They are in their own coop, which has a small hen house and an enclosed run. The momma hen keeps pacing at the gate and the edge of the run, which shows me she is wanting to take the chicks out into the yard. Is it too soon to let her and the chicks out into the yard if I'm out there while they are out? Thanks for any advice

I let my chicks out at about 3 days old. That's usually when my broodies are fed up with being stuck inside. Let them out, momma will take care of them and you'll be out there anyway to keep an eye on everyone
