I had 2 duck eggs under a mama hen. 1 hatched early this morning just fine. The other I could hear internal piping yesterday but no external. Do I intervene and make an air hole or just leave it. It is still peeping but not as strongly.

A small safety hole above the air cell at this point wouldn't hurt anything, use either a sharp sterilized screw or a brad point drill bit, position the screw directly above the air cell, and slowly twist back in forth until you make a hole with the tip of the screw, no need to widen the hole further, leave the egg be.
