when to help????

I had 6 eggs that were due to hatch on the 7th. All but one hatched on the 7 th and 8th. There is only one left that hasn't hatched it has pipped but that was about 25 hours ago and no progress. Would it be okay to help it zip? what do I do?

Is the chick still alive or chirping?

If itis still alive, I would probably chip away a little of the shell. If you see blood, stop, it probably isn't ready yet.

I agree with chipping a little. Just start the chipping around the beak. It could dry up and suffocate if you miss the beak.

well the baby chick didn't make it.

I zipped a lil hole and it tried very hard to get out and then an hour later it passed.

Its sad but I know it's in chicken heaven!
