So I have two 6 week old Narraganset turkeys that I incubated and hatched due to a foul creature killing their mom as she was laying. The coop has since been re-enforced and I was able to save the eggs and they’ve both been healthy and strong since day one. But as anyone knows turkeys get big and they are outgrowing my brooders. In the flock are two male narra turkeys and two white meat turkeys I rescued. Males are currently going crazy cause of the season but the females aren’t quite to sexual maturity yet. So I’m just wondering at what age and how do I introduce the safely?

I go from the brooder to a grow out pen. The grow out pen is a see but no touch area in the coop where all the other poultry can see them. At 6 weeks old they are ready for a turkey or game bird grower feed (usually about 24% protein) for the next six weeks. After that they can go on an adult feed.

Once they are on adult feed, they can be added to thye general population.

BBWs are usually sexually mature by the time they are 5 to 6 months old.
