I was wondering since my chicks are now 2 weeks old and growing fast. In south Louisiana the low temp right now is 85 degrees and high of 100. Could I move them outside with my adult birds in a separate cage next to them?
1000

At two weeks old their constant temp should be 85*. During the night if they go below that temp they will begin to feather much faster. Faster feathering however gets traded for proper physiological development. If the birds get cold you have basically caused environmental changes to their biology, which can lead to runted or less thrifty birds later in life.

I set mine out at 3 weeks im in south alabama mine stay in a shed with a heat lamp about 6 feet up away from them the temp stays about 95 to 102 depending on outside temp. I haven't lost any so far doing it this way

well I am happy to say that after 1 week all of them are doing awesome and survived so far. I know that it's only working because of the extreme night heat. Down south we don't get below freezing but a few times a year.

I set mine out yesterday evening i have a farm 2 hours north of where i live and nobody will help me with my birds. I went to my farm for 2 days to spray fields came back the brooder was filthy almost putta water food trough was a mess so i put em out on wire their feet were caked with feces. Anyway their all doing great theyre 2 weeks old now and doin good so far. yhink its about 94 put there on em today.
