I have 7-8 wk old chicks and I just bought 6 wk old cockerel and a 3.5-4 month old pullet. Can I put them in the same coop? I had them separated last night but just placed them together. They don't seem to take notice to each other but I'm slightly afraid to leave them alone. Any thoughts or ideas?

You could probably put them together now, as long as they are roughly the same size/energy level. Expect some fighting, but those chicks are pretty close in age and you shouldn't have too much of a problem.

I had 6 way smaller chicks than the rest but they just keep their distance and are fine :)

Thanks!

I put them together earlier today and the 2 new ones didn't even seem to bother the others. The seller told me the rooster is 6 wks but I'm pretty sure he is much older than that. He pecked the others on the head a bit but they knew to run away instead of cower. I was nervous to leave them alone for the hours I needed to leave the house, but when I came back home they seemed just fine. I think they just had to establish a pecking order.
