when to set eggs

How many days at most can you keep the eggs after the hen lays before it is no good to incubate? So far I have held out for 4 eggs at 1 egg a day but would like to put more in at a time and have more time in between hatch dates.

Saving up to 7 days is ideal. That being said I have had eggs over two weeks old hatch. Normally you would try to set eggs less than 10 days old.
