I live in Wisconsin along the lake and I am thinking the best time to get day old chicken would be in spring and ready to be outside in the summer. Am I on the right track? Are there only certain times of the year to get day old chicks?
Thank you!

You can start any time, if you can find chicks. It's usually easier to find them in the spring. They reach point of lay (if they are hatchery chicks) somewhere around 20 weeks, which would be mid winter, and many breeds stop laying in winter, or delay laying til spring.

Thank you for your response... I am excited to get this going.
