At which day into incubation should I throw out non-developing eggs? They are on day 9 and I was thinking of waiting until day 14 just to be sure. But I heard if eggs are still clear at day 10 I can throw them out.

if you are an expert in candling you can throw them out earlier. if you are not an expert wait for day 14. I was going to throw out fertile eggs as they looked clear to my blind eyes, lol. talking about chicken eggs.

I am not an expert, so I'll probably wait a few more days. I can tell one is definitely developing though, I saw its little heartbeat today. :love

Duck eggs take 28 days to hatch (depending on the breed), I believe. I’d say to wait a little longer. @Isaac 0

I started 10 duck eggs at the beginning of November and had 6 hatch. I think I threw two out around day 14, one around day 21 and one around day 30 that didn’t hatch (I was iffy on whether it would hatch when I candled them before lockdown). I just candled and if I wasn’t sure I looked online, candled again or waited a few days.
