When to worm baby chicks.

I was curious as to how early to worm the baby chicks. Mine are still inside but want to protect them and not worm them too late.
 
There's no reason to worm them if they've never been out foraging. Worms don't just appear. They have to have eaten something that has worms like feces of a chicken that has worms or a secondary host that has them like crickets, earthworms, slugs, etc.

I never worm chicks and in fact, I've only wormed one chicken in my life and that was a 3 year old rooster.
I also have a fecal sample read before treating, usually there will be no heavy load indicated.

Wormer meds (anthelmintics) won't do anything if worms aren't already present.
