When using sand in the coop...

I can get the following sand types from the above shop. As a new keeper I'm not sure what I should get, can't find the so called River Sand.

Hey, I'm in Jax too!

I have play sand in my brooder and it is really fine and powdery. I am putting sand in my coop and run, and will be getting a medium grain sand like the yard or concrete sand. I think the larger grain sand will drain better than the fine. The only thing I would check on is if either of them have any additives like silica or chemicals.

I am going to check with Mulch Depot for the sand, I bought my garden compost from them. They were the cheapest and the compost looks great.

Just so you can compare...I called today, Mulch Depot has the yellow yard sand for $25 a yard. Let me know if you find it cheaper, I need 3 1/2 yards and $75 is too much to spend.
