Our Silver partridge bantam silkie rooster named Silver is around 5 months old and he still hasn't gained enough confidence. He acts like everything is going to kill him and is terrified of the hens.
Yesterday he tried to go near one before it looked up at him and he took off running away from it:idunno

Anything I could do to help?
When should he gain enough confidence?

How long has this bird been in with the hens...and how old are the hens?

Err... I'm actually going to say that's good?
I happen to like a timid cockerel far better than I like the alternative. Give him time to mature.
Ditto Dat^^^

Well he hasn't actually lived with them yet. I've been slowly been getting them use to him by keeping him in a separate yard next to them. Sometimes I have been letting him free range with them so that if they attack him, he can run to hide somewhere.
5 of the hens are 2 yrs old, 2 of the hens are 1 yr old, and the last 3 are around 6-7 months old.

Well, then you'll have to wait.
Are there any other males in this mix?
